Choose which details Flexi generates by default for new cards, such as an example sentence or written pronunciation. These field settings are free. Custom instructions for the generator require Premium.
Choose the fields for new cards

Open the deck you want to use.

Select the deck’s gear button to open Deck settings.

Under Personalization, open Automatically generated fields.

Turn Example, Definition, Pronunciation, and Part of speech on or off to choose what to generate. For cards with only a word and translation, turn all four options off.
Automatic pronunciation guides are available for selected languages. For Mandarin Chinese, use Pronunciation system to choose Pinyin or Zhuyin. Other supported languages use a fixed system; Japanese uses kana, not romaji.
Translation is always included. Suggested cards do not include an automatically generated image. With Premium, edit a suggested or saved card to generate an image or upload your own.
When creating a batch of cards, open Card fields to review the fields for that batch. It starts with your deck’s field settings.
Add custom instructions with Premium
In the deck’s personalization settings, open Generation preferences and describe how you want the generator to write your cards. Changes save automatically. When you finish, dismiss the keyboard and close Deck settings.

FAQ
Will this change my existing cards?
No. Changing generation settings does not rewrite saved cards. You can edit their text or generate new field content separately.
