Flexi uses AI to suggest card content around the word and meaning you want to learn. The translation helps keep the example, definition, and image focused on that meaning. Review the generated content and edit anything you want to change.
What guides the result?
Text generation uses the word or phrase and your deck’s learning and translation languages. The card’s Translation identifies the meaning you want to practise.
For example, “bank” can mean a financial institution or the side of a river. Keep those meanings on separate cards so each has a matching translation, definition, and example.
When you generate an image, Flexi uses the translation to identify the meaning and, when available, the example sentence to guide the scene. An example about sitting on a river bank gives the image a different context from depositing money at a bank.
Get a more useful card

Choose the intended meaning. Check the translation before generating or regenerating other content.

Make the example specific. Before generating an image, use a sentence that describes the situation you want it to show.

Describe your preferences. With Premium, use Generation preferences for requests such as “Use short example sentences about everyday life.” See Customize card generation to set them up.
Generation preferences apply to suggested cards, individual text fields, topic suggestions, and cards made from word lists or topics. They do not apply to images or word recommendations.
If AI gets it wrong
AI can choose the wrong meaning, write an unnatural sentence, or create an image that does not fit. Check the result before learning it. If you are unsure about a meaning or sentence, compare it with a reliable dictionary or ask a teacher.
You can correct the text yourself or generate another version where the option is available. For an image that misses the point, first check the translation and example, then try generating it again. See Edit a card for the steps.
Which AI models does Flexi use?
Flexi currently uses Gemini 3.8 Flash to generate card text.
We update the models over time to balance quality, generation speed, and running costs, helping us keep text generation free.
FAQ
Can I choose a different AI model?
No. Flexi currently chooses the model for you. There is no setting to switch models in the app.
Will changing my preferences update saved cards?
No. Generation settings do not rewrite saved cards. Edit a card or generate new content for it separately.
Are images added automatically?
No. Suggested cards do not include an automatically generated image. With Premium, open a suggested or saved card’s editor to generate an image or add your own.
